The core dynamic of the continuing News International scandal is the absence of authentic power, not the expression of it. True Power comes from within. It is not dependent upon any position of leadership, authority or wealth. Recent Prime Ministers, some politicians, police officers and a media mogul have all surrendered their power. Not only did they allow themselves to be manipulated, influenced and controlled because they feared the agendas of others, but they sought to influence and manipulate the public as well. That powerlessness is now being reflected back to them as their past conduct is brought to the light of public consciousness. For the past two weeks, politicians, police and other individuals have been compelled to react to a fast moving, news story. They no longer enjoy the illusions of power and control over it.
Each person holds something deep within them, which transcends the ego personality. It is a state of pure consciousness, which holds all the strength, intuitive guidance and wisdom they need to work confidently, uninfluenced by the agendas of other people and organisations. It can be accessed when the mind and emotions are still. It is their true power. When individuals become conscious of this and claim it, they cannot be manipulated and influenced. Nor would they desire or need to manipulate and control others. It is impossible. Our natural state of consciousness is all knowing and fearless. It is totally unaffected by the fears, judgments and beliefs of the ego mind. To ignore it is to live in the illusion of power. It is to invite struggle, misfortune, suffering, challenge and loss as politicians, police and various individuals in the media are now finding.
