True Power is not being afraid to let your light shine. It is allowing people to see you as you are, content for your work or actions to be visible to the scrutiny of others. Your light cannot shine where there is or has been a “cover up.” People surrender their authentic power when they seek to cover up their actions and / or hide their faces. It is usually because they have done something they know to be wrong and are fearful of the consequences to them. They choose to live in the shadows of fear.
Many “cover ups” have been coming to the light of public consciousness in recent years. The publication of the letter by Clive Goodman, former royal correspondent for the News of the World to his employers, is suggestive of a cover-up by News International. In his letter, Goodman states that phone hacking was ‘widely discussed’ at editorial meetings; that the former editor, Andy Coulson, offered to let him keep his job if Goodman agreed not to implicate the paper in phone hacking when the case went to court.During the riots in London and elsewhere in the UK, many rioters hid their faces, fearful of being identified. They did not possess the courage for people to see them or face the consequences of their behaviour. The Roman Catholic Church has sought to cover up the worldwide scale of children abused by members of the clergy. Fear was greater than faith. These were choices for darkness and fear, not light and joy. Darkness is not wrong. It provides the shadow which enables us to see our Light. It helps us to define who we are and our values.
Mankind is living through times of great change. Darkness is coming to light. Wrongdoings are coming to public consciousness. Is there something you have done which you feel uncomfortable about? Are you are hiding or engaging in a cover up of some sort? If so, how does it feel? Alternatively, how do you feel about standing the light and true power of your being, confident and secure in all that you do? What feels best?
