The mass demonstrations against financial greed which have spread throughout 900 cities worldwide raise the issue of personal fulfilment. Greed is practised by people who are not aware of their true nature and power. Consciously or unconsciously they sense that “something is missing,” within them, an illusory hole, which they seek to fill from sources in their external world. It is an exercise in futility.
Greed will vanish when people are prepared to travel beyond their beliefs. Greed comes from holding onto the delusion that “there is never enough.” When the shackles of the fear conditioned mind are released, people will remember who they truly are. They will re-connect to their authentic creative power and manifest abundance and joy. To do so, requires the willingness to travel beyond personal beliefs about power, prosperity and the nature of individual identity. It means being open to travelling beyond limitation, for people to know themselves differently. This is not easy as what is familiar often appears more comfortable than dealing with change and the uncertainty which accompanies it.
Do you feel fulfilled? If not, why not? Are you willing to embrace change, to go deep within and note where there is greed in your life? Of course, there are the “pleasures” of say, the extra piece of chocolate, a dessert that is desired but not needed. However, when there is a compulsion to drink, eat too much, smoke, have sex, work too hard, gamble and so forth, it is driven by a craving for personal fulfilment. Such activities may bring instant gratification but they will not bring joy.
True Power and personal fulfilment comes from within. Each person possesses all that they need and more. When people are accept this, generosity, kindness and sharing will replace exploitation, suffering and greed for people will be standing in the light, truth and magnificence of who they Be, rather than the illusions and limitations of who they think they are or should be.
