You are aligned with your true power when you feel totally comfortable with uncertainty. It is to live in a state of total trust, freedom and peace. Such a state of empowerment can be difficult to sustain. This is because the fear based ego mind constantly seeks to control events, people and circumstances in order to maintain the delusion of power and feel safe.
However, such behaviour is a denial of the authentic power that exists within you. It is also a waste of energy and an exercise in futility. Life happens! People are as they are and nothing you can do or say will change them unless they are willing to do so.
Fear permeates the consciousness of mankind like bindweed. It suffocates spontaneity, creativity and joy. It creates struggle, stress and illness. Fear disempowers.
Recent events in Egypt brilliantly and subtly highlight the issues of fear and power. The old ways of believing one can have power over people through fear centred manipulation and control has been exposed for the delusion it is. When they had had enough, people became willing to transcend their fears and claim their inherent power. They were willing to live with uncertainty and perhaps punishment. The protesters displayed their innate courage and strength, in doing so, claimed their power. Significantly, there were no leaders. Each person present in the Egyptian demonstrations against the tyranny of Hosni Mubarak took responsibility for their personal and collective empowerment.
One activist, Khalid Abdalla, is quoted as saying, “in Tahrir Square, we lost our fears and found ourselves.” How true!
External events in Tahrir Square reflected the internal reality of many people worldwide who feel fearful and who wish to claim their power. To be authentically empowered requires the willingness to live with uncertainty. It means taking responsibility for you and your actions. It entails facing your fears and surrendering to what is in the moment without seeking to control it unless intuitively guided to do so. It is to go with the flow?
True power exists within you. It is experienced, not taught. Are you ready to claim it?
