Courage, compassion and kindness are inherent within us all. They are qualities of the heart, which when exercised demonstrate when people are aligned with the true power of their being. The rescue efforts of people searching for those trapped by the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand, together with the rescue of foreign nationals from Libya by special armed services personnel are and have been visible examples of true power in action.
The display of courage by protesters in Libya remind us that fear can be overcome. For millennia, the mass consciousness of mankind has been grounded in fear. It has been held in place by social, political and religious dogmas created and disseminated by individuals who sought power and control over others through fear and oppression. These ways will no longer work. Current events throughout the Middle East are bearing witness to this.Courage, compassion and kindness hold within them an innate power. Whilst dramatic and tragic events stimulate the awareness of heart centred action, you do not need them to enable you to exercise these qualities on a daily basis.
Are there areas in your life where your fear feels greater than your courage? If so, take action as soon as possible to face your fear. Do not allow yourself to be oppressed by it. Fear left unattended will eventually become a crisis which will demand your attention. Have compassion for yourself. Be patient and exercise the kindness of self –acceptance and non- judgment. In harnessing your innate courage, compassion and exercising kindness to yourself and others, you will be demonstrating true power in action. You will come to understand that fear is never and can never be greater than the invincible courage of the spirit within you. It comes from the heart. The seat of true power!
